Conservation-Restoration

German National Scientific Committee for the Conservation and Restoration of Wall Painting and Architectural Surface

This ICOMOS working group was founded in Munich on April 23, 2010, at the initiative of a group of ICOMOS members dealing with these matters in their profession, both in practice and in research. The working group consists of restorers and other experts working in the monument conservation field. They are either self-employed or work for conservation institutions or universities. The group collaborates closely with the International Scientific Committees (ISCs) of ICOMOS, especially with the ISC Conservation and Restoration of Mural Paintings. Furthermore, it works together with ICOM-CC (Committee for Conservation of the International Council of Museums) and its working groups, especially the working groups "Murals, Stone, and Rock Art" and "Theory and History of Conservation". Apart from international matters, the German National Scientific Committee for the Conservation and Restoration of Wall Painting and Architectural Surface particularly aims to focus on Central European, national and regional aspects.

Speaker of the group: Prof. Dr. Dipl. Rest. Ursula Schädler-Saub
