Conference "Materiality and Color in Modernist Architecture: from Science to Everyday Heritage Conservation Practice"

The conference will take place in Berlin from May 7 to 9, 2026, as a cooperation between the Berlin Heritage Authority, the German National Committee of ICOMOS, the Technical University of Munich, and the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts. It is sponsored by the Wüstenrot Foundation.
The focus will be on the critical reexamination of materiality and color in modernist architecture, with an emphasis on surface aesthetics, methodological criticism, and restoration history.
