ICOMOS is Co-signatory of the Bauhaus Manifesto

At the initiative of Wolfram Weimer, Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, associations and institutions from the fields of culture, design, crafts, architecture, and the churches have jointly signed the Bauhaus Manifesto, thereby sending a message of freedom, openness, and creativity.
The manifesto is intended as a contemporary cultural and sociopolitical commitment to the principles that continue to make the Bauhaus a globally influential cultural icon to this day: freedom of artistic thought, openness to new ideas, the integration of different disciplines, and the conviction that cultural innovation can make an important contribution to the development of a democratic society.
At the same time, the manifesto is a plea to defend the principles of the Bauhaus against anti-democratic attacks.

ICOMOS Germany is a co-signatory of this manifesto.
