May 7-9, 2026, Berlin -- Conference "Materiality and Color in Modernist Architecture: from Science to Everyday Heritage Conservation Practice"
The conference will take place in Berlin from May 7 to 9, 2026, as a cooperation between the Berlin Heritage Conservation Office, the German National Committee of ICOMOS, the Technical University of Munich, and the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts. The focus will be on the critical reexamination of materiality and color in modernist architecture, with an emphasis on surface aesthetics, methodological criticism, and restoration history.
